PAST EVENT: How does PR secure a seat at the Board table?

Tuesday 17 September 2019

A growing body of evidence suggests that organisations with Public Relations represented at board level are more effective and responsive.  In many organisations, PR leaders already report to the CEO – but this is not always the case.

In this latest PUBlic Relations event, we explore the impact of having a place at the board table and ask why PR teams sometimes get left behind. What are the business benefits of having PR in the boardroom, and what is the impact on those working in more junior roles?  What influence do PR professionals have, and how can they best exert this in the C-Suite?

We’re helped on our way by an expert panel made up of senior public relations professionals and business leaders, with direct boardroom experience:

  • Nicola Green, Corporate Affairs Director, O2 (Telefonica UK)
  • Fathima Dada, Managing Director Oxford Education, Oxford University Press
  • Mish Tullar, Head of Communications, Partnerships and Policy, Oxford City Council

The event will give Oxford’s thriving PR community the opportunity to explore and equip themselves to make the case for PR to join the Board.

With quarterly events in pubs around the city, PUBlic Relations events bring together some of the brightest experts from Oxford and beyond to discuss the latest trends in all areas of internal and external communications. PUBlic Relations is proudly sponsored by Venn Group.
